Internship Opportunities

Join Team Finca! We are now accepting applications for the 2009 Fall (North American Fall) Internship Session. Our Fall Session begins on September 28th and ends December 11th. Interns must commit for a minimum of 6 weeks.

We offer the following positions:

Finca Film Crew
The Finca Film Crew is responsible for making video blogs and short docs that reflect Finca Project´s mission. Video topics can range from wildlife to politics. Filming and editing experience is required. Basic Spanish proficiency is required. Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply.

Community Outreach Team
The Community Outreach intern serves as a liason between Finca Project and organized community groups in the district of Aguabuena, Coto Brus, Costa Rica with the intent to raise awareness of environmental issues and to encourage these community groups to work with Finca Project to start small-scale reforestation projects. Proficiency in Spanish is required. Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply.

Education Outreach Team
The Education Outreach team will continue and add to an environmental education pilot program initiated by previous Finca interns. The purpose of this environmental education curriculum is to accompany fruit tree planting projects at school sites throughout the Aguabuena School District. Proficiency in Spanish is required. Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply.

Living Arrangements:
Interns live with local families who provide 3 meals per day and laundry services. All homestay families can accommodate people with special dietary needs.

Dates:
Our internships are generally 6 to 12 weeks long. Our program is flexible to accommodate your needs and interests.

Costs:
6 week internship.........$1500
Additional weeks..........$250/week
These costs include room and board.

***Finca Project offers interns the opportunity to raise funds to go towards the program costs. Email us and ask for our Fundraising Packet.

Although many of our interns receive college credit, you DO NOT have to be a college student to participate in our internship program.
