2007 High School Cultural Exchange Program

Finca Project's High School Cultural Exchange Program serves to introduce students to the concepts of ecological literacy. The goal of this program is to create strong environmental leaders of tomorrow by exposing students to the complex ecological, cultural and economic issues facing the environment today. Students will aid in our community-based reforestation projects - working with farmers, local students and community leaders to restore the once-great rainforest of southern Costa Rica.

Students will:
-Live with a Costa Rican family.
-Work with local high school students.
    -Aid in small-scale reforestation projects.
-Become ecologically literate through our diverse curriculum.
    -Practice their Spanish skills.
    -And, most importantly, have fun!

Activities include:
    -Trips to the rainforest
    -Beach excursion
-Field trip to Wilson Botanical Gardens
-Guest Speaker at Finca Loma Linda Agroecology Research Station
