Why Reforestation?Why Reforestation?
Climate change is a threat to the well-being our global ecosystem and economy. Rising temperatures are leading us to significant climate change and rising sea levels. Global warming is occurring as we emit greenhouse gasses (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide) into the atmosphere. These greenhouse gasses act as an insulator in our atmosphere trapping solar radiation. Internship OpportunitiesInternship Opportunities
We are now accepting interns for our 2010 Summer Session. We are looking for a diverse group of interns to work in areas of sustainable forest management, environmental education, and carbon finance. Finca Interns form a vital part of our organization. This internship serves as a great starting point for an environmental career. Past Finca Project interns have gone on to work on various enivronmental isues in government, NGOs, and the private sector.

  High School Cultural Exchange ProgramEmpowering Local Eco-Entrepreneurs
In 2007, Finca Project began working with the local schools in Aguabuena to develop an environmental curriculum that incorporated business ideas, leadership, and entrepreneurship. The program was so successful, that we are now growing to include the local univerisites. This program was made possible through generous grants from the Silverton Foundation and the Whole Systems Foundation
